About us
We are a women's collective who formed after Repeal of the Eighth Amendment in Ireland.
We were established as Abortion Access Campaign West in September 2018 with a focus on access to abortion in the west of Ireland but rebranded in 2025 as Abortion Access Campaign.
We want to ensure the implementation of the legislation and the advancement and improvement of abortion services beyond the parameters of the legislation. Please read our position paper below.
Our primary work involves lobbying government. Our four key demands are:
- Removal of the mandatory 3-day waiting period
- Improvement of the information available for women seeking abortion care
- Addressing the barriers associated with conscientious objection
- Decriminalisation of abortion in Ireland
There is further information in our submission to the Review of the Health (Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy) Act 2018 which is accessible here.
